In 1961, the movie Ring of Fire was filmed above Camp Grisdale. As the only cooperative unit established in the United States, it attracted national attention, including TV personality Arthur Godfrey. Mason County's Forest Festival was a weekend celebration for 30,000 visitors that included a parade and logging shows. Shelton and McCleary were saved from becoming ghosts towns, and downtown Shelton was modernized with a shopping center, parks, and schools. Simpson Logging built the largest logging camp in the continental United States, Camp Grisdale, which had a two-room school and a two-lane bowling alley. In 1946, the US Forest Service and Simpson Logging Company agreed to a sustained yield unit, cooperatively managing lands for 100 years for "community stability." Championed by USFS chief William Greeley and dubbed the "Sustained Steal" by detractors, the Shelton Cooperative Sustained Yield Unit nonetheless provided jobs for returning World War II veterans. ![]()

5/12/2023 0 Comments Romeo x Juliet, Vol. 01 by GONZO![]() ![]() Not only from a majority of the manga I have read, but as well as what Shakespear wrote them as being originally. The characters are different, and relatively unique. Once I had actually read and finished, however, I was glad I did. I had put off reading this manga ( as well as watching the anime ), in spite of many people telling me of their enjoyment over both. The characters in this manga are actually quite a bit different than how Shakespeare originally wrote them! Which is something I enjoyed. ![]() In some places it looks odd or lacks details, or is just bland to look at in general. It's not very stunning nor breathtaking, nor anything that's very different from any other manga. In the very end, I found that the twists were interesting, but not enough to bring myself to a point that I found myself extremely fond of, nor completely understanding of, what happened. Towards various different aspects and events that happened, I was questioning myself and what I'd read, as well as rereading/glancing it over. ![]() Said factors are both unique and confusing. ![]() There are quite a few factors, however, that claim difference between the two. Midcareer, she made the unprecedented transition from one side of the lens to the other, from a Condé Nast model in Jazz Age New York to fashion photographer, creating stunning images that imbued fashion with her signature wit and whimsy.
